Happy Jack, by Thornton Burgess, is a classic nature story about a mischievous squirrel and one of the most popular and beloved animal stories ever. Delightful and charming graphics showing Happy Jack gathering Hickory Nuts with his other forest friends and showing an owl as the "Receiving Teller" for "Security Storage and Trust for Squirrels & Chipmunks". Note the running bee with a net! Marked on top- "If you Get and Spend a Penny. Then of Course You Haven't Any. Be Like Me - A Happy Jack And Put It Where You'll Get It Back." Circa 1920's Excellent condition. 2 7/8” tall x 4 ¼” long.
