| Norwegian Cube Butter Mold |
Antique wooden ware butter mold. Measures 10 ¼” T x 7 ¾” W x 7 ¾” D. The butter mold produces a large block of butter, decorated on four sides and the dome top. The corners are mortised and pegged. The design has a column at each corner and in the center of each panel. Two of the sides have diamonds on each side of the column. The other two sides have scroll designs on each side of column. The dome has scroll designs with saw-tooth decorations. Outside of mold is dated “1827” with the initials “MUD”, also “G O D F”. Found in Wisconsin. The butter mold is an exceptional piece with great size, surface and patina. In 38 years of dealing in butter prints and molds this is the first time I have ever seen this type of butter mold.
